DEMOCRACY

DICTATORSHIP

DYNASTY

(August 23, 1754 - January 21, 1793)

Louis XVI was the last monarch ruler of France before his

downfall during the French Revolution. Louis XVI was living

the usual loyal life with his family while the French citizens

were starving in the streets. By 1789, the French citizens

were fed up and ignited the French Revolution. Seeing the

reaction to overthrowing the monarchy, Louis XVI and his

wife, Marie Antoinette attempted to escape France by

heading to Austria. However, this would backfire on Louis

XVI as groups of patrolmen would recognize the face of

the king. By January 21, 1793, he would be executed by the

guillotine, marking the end of imperial rule in France.
