Moscow and the first czar of Russia. During Ivan's
early life, he would be crowned as the Grand Prince
of Moscow when his father, Vasily III of Moscow,
died when he was the age of three. Ivan would later
claim the title of czar, which is Latin for Caesar. The
contributions of Ivan the Terrible are the expansion
of Russia, and increasing military, which included
territories of Kazan and Astrakhan. In addition, Ivan is
famously known for killing his son, Ivan Ivanovich, due
to his rage and being mentally ill.
