Saddam Hussein is a political revolutionary and a brutal

dictator in Iraq. Hussein was the leader in Iraq from 1979 to

2003. During Hussein's regime, he committed torments of

violence against his people such as torture, killing, and

execution. Saddam Hussein played a role during the Gulf

War as he and his troops invaded Kuwait, which caused the

U.S. to expel the Iraqi armies. Hussein's regime in Iraq

would conclude in 2003 as the United States launched a

full-scale invasion. By December of that year, Saddam

Hussein had been captured by U.S. forces. On December

30, 2006, Saddam Hussein was executed by hanging for

crimes against humanity.
