DEMOCRACY

DICTATORSHIP

DYNASTY

FIDEL CASTRO

(August 13 1926 - November 25, 2016)

Fidel Castro was a revolutionary and political leader of

Cuba. During his time as a revolutionary, he would

overthrow the tyrannical rule of Fulgencio Batista with the

help of another revolutionary member, Ernesto "Che"

Guevara. Although the revolution did temporarily help

Cuba be freed from the monarch rule, Castro would make

the nation into one communist party, much similar to the

Soviet Union. Fidel Castro played a big role during the

Cold War as he sided with the Soviet Union during the

Cuban Missile Crisis. The legacy that Castro left was

having Cuba being stuck in time and not moving forward

due to its communist government, which negatively

impacted the people of Cuba.
