WINSTON CHURCHILL

(November 30, 1874 - January 24, 1965)

Winston Churchill was the former prime minister of

the United Kingdom during the Second World War.

Before Churchill became prime minister, he served

as First Lord of the Admiralty during World War I,

which became a major role for him. Churchill is

famously known for being a strong leader during

the threat from the Nazi forces. Additionally,

Winston Churchill made inspirational quotes that

rallied the British people such as "We shall fight on

the beaches," "We shall never surrender," and "This

was their finest hour." The legacy that Churchill left

was defending democracy from the tyranny of fascism

of Nazi Germany.
