FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT

(January 30, 1882 - April 12, 1945)

Franklin D. Roosevelt was the former 32nd president of

the United States. FDR was the son of Theodore

Roosevelt, the leader of the Rough Riders during the

Spanish-American war, and established the progressive

political party, the Bull Moose Party. FDR started his

political career as a Democrat member as he first was

the governor of New York. By 1932, FDR had been

elected as the 32nd president of the United States,

defeating Herbert Hoover. FDR's contributions were

helping Americans during the Great Depression and

World War II. FDR was the first and only president

serving four terms until he died in 1945.
